UNI Botanical Center INTERNSHIP

This internship is designed to provide Biology Majors with 230 hours of practical (hands on) Botanical Center Experience. The experience will enhance the students education and may be of particular benefit when securing employment after graduation. Students receive 3 hours of University credit upon completion.  A Biology Department faculty member and the Botanical Center Manager will oversee the students internship experience. Interns will participate in a variety of greenhouse activities working directly with the Botanical Center Manager and Horticulturist as well as assisting staff in day to day operations of the center.

Some of the areas the intern will gain experience in are: 

  • Daily care of the Botanical collection

  • Greenhouse IPM Program 

  • Propagation techniques

  • Greenhouse Building maintenance 

  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance
