There are many career paths students take after completing their Biology major. Below are some documents and websites to begin your career exploration. UNI faculty, staff, and Career Services Office are also good resources to consult.

UNI Career Cruising

​UNI Career Cruising has assessment tools and detailed occupation profiles to help you move seamlessly through the career exploration and planning process. The "Career Matchmaker" and "Explore Careers" sections can be particularly useful for you in the career exploration and planning process. It is best to discuss your results with a professional if you have any questions or concerns.


Rod Library Career Collection

Rod Library also has a collection of resources regarding career exploration and job hunting. It is located on the north side of the library's main floor.


Occupational Outlook Handbook

The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a guide with information about hundreds of occupations, including average salaries, necessary education, and projected growth rates of certain jobs. 


Iowa Health Careers

Iowa Health Careers has a variety of tools available for students to find out which health career best fits their interests and skills. You are able to compare different careers in the health field, as well as how to plan for a career in health.


Explore Health Careers

Explore Health Careers provides students with information about health careers, as well as articles and blog posts with recent material regarding health careers.


American Society for Clinical Pathology Career Center

The American Society for Clinical Pathology Career Center provides information concerning careers in the laboratory science field. It also provides resources such as salary data and interviewing tips.


Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology provides students with information about careers in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, or medical dosimetry. 


National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT)
